Rock Yourself to Sleep

We switched Jaden to a toddler bed a week or so ago and it has been non-stop fun ever since.  While Jaden doesn’t leave his room at night, we do hear lots of moving around after he “goes to bed.”  Usually there are books on the floor, an extra set of pj’s out, and the fan turned off when we check in on him.  However, when we checked on him the other night, we found him sleeping here.

Strawberry Picking

Last weekend when Grandpa and Grandma were visiting, we took a trip to the Pickin’ Patch and spent part of the morning picking (and eating) strawberries.  Jaden did the eating and we did the picking.

Big Weekend

After the excitement from last weekend’s trip to the ER, we wanted to do something fun this weekend (although if you ask Jaden, the trip to the ER was probably fun considering the popsicle and toy cars).  On Saturday we took Jaden to “Touch a Truck,” which was in downtown Newington.  Lots of trucks, including a fire truck, police car, school bus, big rig, and backhoe were available for all of the kids to climb all over.

On Sunday, we went to a carnival in the next town over.  Lots of the rides were toddler-friendly and Jaden could do them by himself.

He was so wiped out, that this is how he ended up.

First Trip to the ER

Jaden had his first trip to the ER on Sunday.  We were all playing on our bed and he fell off and hit his head on Harry's crate.  Lots of blood, but luckily he only needed two staples for the cut about an inch above his right ear.  We took him to the children's hospital and they brought in a dvd player so he could watch Barney while he got the staples.  He didn't even cry.  Afterwards, they gave him a popsicle and hot wheels cars.  We'll go to the doctor's this week to get the wound checked, then again next week to get the staples removed.  Other than that, he's doing fine!
